It’s my birthday today ^^ I’m turning 30! And what better to do when celebrating one more year on this planet than to do something new that I haven’t done before?
So I want to share with you all my very first series of characters that I’ve made and designed.
怪獣を作りました。They’re monsters, they’re out to scare you and they’re not messing around. Are you ready to meet the first one?

This is Ichi!
Ichi specializes in growls and ferocious glares. However, he also gets embarrassed easily. He can often be found to be blushing and trying to hide in a corner. He likes the smell of coffee but will only drink it if it’s extra sweet. Do tell him he did a good job of scaring you!
The kanji for Ichi’s name 位置 means ‘location’. He picked it himself!
In the following weeks, I will also be introducing Ni, San, Yon, Go, Roku, and Nana. All of them will be available to my patrons on patreon and you may find them interacting with each other and discussing things.

Next kanji for patreon: 試験 - exam (not at all foreshadowing for those preparing for the upcoming JLPT)
Eg. sentences:
試験が目前に迫った。The examination is near at hand.
志望者全員が試験に合格できるわけではない。Not all the candidates can pass the examination.
試験に受かるように真剣に勉強した。I studied really hard so as to pass the exam.
One of the radicals in the kanji is 馬 (うま) horse. Maybe just me but I always forget the stroke order for the beginning of that kanji
試 starts with the 言 radical and 験 starts with the 馬 radical. It’s easy to forget which kanji comes first in the word so we can remember it like “say horse”. If you say horse, it’s an exam~
Everyone do your best for the exam! ‘Say horse’!

Walk down the quaint hallway to the little hot spring.
This stained glass is transferred from the theater in Beppu already closed. It’s a great thing that there are many people who wanted to keep the memories of old Beppu culture.
FYI: It cost only 500yen to enjoy this hot spring.

I felt ashamed to place an order a cup of cafe latte at the specialty coffee shop, but it was so good that the foam milk of this cafe latte is silky and smooth texture.
The beautiful cup and little flower made me smile

My favorite is “tan tan-men” which is full of sesame paste.
This is highly reputed ramen restaurant on the back street in Beppu.
