Bucky rubs his eyes a few times, but apparently this isn’t a hallucination.
“Barton,” he grunts. “The fuck are you doing?”
“Putting googly eyes on everything in the fridge.”
“It’s three in the morning.”
“Yep! Wanna help?”
Bucky blinks away the afterimages of that smile, thinking vaguely about moths — powdery wings beating against glass — and says helplessly, “Yeah, okay.”

Much later, when he shuffles back to his room, he pulls the notebook from its hiding spot in his closet and adds a few new items.

As of yesterday, writers have two months left before the deadline for Artist Claims on July 25th, when you’ll need to submit your fic at least 75% complete, with a summary or outline of the remainder of the fic if it’s not finished.
We’re also coming up on our Second Check-In, which will go out on June 1st. It’s going to be very similar in format to the first check-in - we’re just making sure that everyone is still doing okay and doesn’t need anything from the Mods.
We’re also going to be having our second Writer WorkshoponSaturday 25th June, which will be on Writing Dialogue and hosted by @flawedamythyst, if you want to get that in your diaries! More information closer to the date.

Winterhawk Samplers: Canon Divergence: one canon(ish), one not
A bruised and battered Avenger stumbles into a coffee shop; a millennial motel receptionist has his eyes on a hot-as-hell hitman; after years in cryo, a tired soldier falls for a gangly blonde apartment owner. Writers of this theme often mix and match all of the canon and canon-adjacent backstories that exist for Clint and Bucky, smashing them together beautifully with tropes like identity porn, identity reveals, outrageous crushes, and modern/millennial Bucky (or Clint). Often the civilian!Clint or Bucky has a military background of their own, or can’t resist getting involved in the fight that their partner brings to their doorstep. Enjoy!
