I laughed so hard at this. The Fae are probably just standing there with their mouths open and the sheer and beautiful audacity of you feeding their ‘gift’ failed trap to your beautiful birb.
i’d say that since op only ate 11/12 they belong to the fae 11 months of the year, the other month is when they get op’s bird

Life hack: double cross the fae by including something like a parrot or equally troublesome animal* in the deal to take you. Sure they can steal you but, to fulfil the contract, they have to take the bird too, making it more trouble than its worth.
*Do not try this with ferrets, they’re probably in on the deal themselves already. Jack Russel terriers also don’t count, sure they seem like a good idea but they’re naturally immune to all laws of men and gods and thus cannot be “accidentally” bound to the contract.
