Everyone deserves the opportunity to dress their best. That’s why I’m so glad to be able to share Tommy Hilfiger’s innovative #TommyAdaptive collection with you. #TommyPartner

I know this is very important for people with disabilities and such but all I’m thinking is “Oh this is where super heroes get their shirts from.”

This shit looks awesome. :D

Hello,
This is my second image for February.

An image I wanted to make for a very long time…

Carson is an extraordinary young man. Beautiful on the outside and on the inside.

After a tragic accident in a trampoline park, he had a spinal cord injury and lost the ability to walk.

But Carson is so full of positive attitude and courage that his journey to lead his life where he wants despite the odds is incredible to see.  ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I decided to make his portrait after an exchange he had with someone on Instagram who told him it was too much shirtless on his instagram and that was diluted his message.

I agreed totally with Carson: “It’s not because I’m in a wheel whair that I don’t have the right to be sexy, if I want to.”

It might seem frivolous but it’s not.

I’ve tried several time to sculpt his portrait but it was never good… I tried again this weekend and I think this one is ok. :-)

Discover more about Carson:❤️

Show Carson some love!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Carson is a big fan of #professorX from #xmen that’s why I made the wheels like this.
A naked version will be available but not for now… For personal reasons, Carson changed his mind, and I totally accept that.

Next image will show nudity, as usual.

Working on the rewards for this image right now.

Literally everyone will ask if you broke your leg(s). Everyone. Even people you don’t know. Theyll ask a lot and think you’re extremely fragile.

bruises show up within the first day of rolling around, and they can really suck

people will try to grab your chair if they think you’re struggling and it can be hard not to snap at them for it

static electricity is a huge issue. You will probably either continuously shock your leg when you’re rolling around or do what I did today and zap someone so hard as you pass that both of you nearly keel over

people will call you out as a faker if you do anything even remotely fun ever on your wheelchair. Wheelies? Obviously your legs are fine lol not like you have to go down fucking curbs /s

puddles are the worst and if there’s a curb with a puddle all around and you have some ability to walk its a better idea to just stand up and navigate the chair than to fall backwards into said puddle

weird looks from people are inevitable, especially from people who don’t like you

bus drivers will often push your chair and give you advise you don’t want to hear, even if you tell them nicely you can push yourself. Its really hard not to get mad at them for it

no wheelies in school. Though if you do it in the elevator when no one else is with you you can’t really get caught.

speaking of wheelies, always be ready to throw at least one arm behind you in case you fall. They say tuck your chin in but its easier and more reliable to throw your hands back and keep your neck up so you don’t hit the floor. Sore arms are way easier to put up with than head injuries

don’t even bother to try and roll back up curbs. You will either be there for an hour or fall backwards. I managed to do both.

90% of classrooms that aren’t special ed are not very wheelchair accessible.

people will automatically assume you’re faking something if you’re not considered dumb enough in their standards to fit in with disabled students (aka high class ableism at its finest)

people are going to give you weird looks if you don’t suddenly start sitting with the other disabled kids

standard backpacks usually dangle way too much to keep on you easily, so try to pack light

built in storage on wheelchairs cannot sufficiently carry books

don’t try to hold an umbrella. Period. Especially not with your teeth. It doesn’t work.

don’t try to give the bus driver your ticket while you’re stuck on the ramp. And speaking of, its easy to start falling down the bus ramp so be careful, and when in doubt throw on the breaks

and finally if you’re like me pray to god you don’t go nonverbal when someone is trying to push you and you don’t want them to because it is hard to get them to stop if you can’t speak

able-bodied people can and should 1000% reblog this, some of these things I’ve seen on tips about using a wheelchair but a lot of these weren’t things I’ve seen

Seriously, never, ever touch someone’s mobility aid without their permission.

A very helpful guide, both for first-time wheelchair users and those around them!

Ways To Feel Like a Faerie Queen

• Don a flower crown.
You can make it yourself or buy a ready-made version! No matter the day or season, a flower crown always makes me feel absolutely magical. If you have allergies or sensitivities, artificial flower crowns are just as magical!

• Highlight your mobility aid.
I remember when I first got a wheelchair, I was really self-conscious about it. My best friend came over and painted it purple for me! Before the pandemic, she’d take me on walks in my chair, and I got loads of compliments on it. Instead of trying not to draw attention to yourself, celebrate the things that give you a higher quality of life. That wheelchair allowed me to get out into nature rather than staying stuck in my bed all the time. That was definitely worthy of celebration!

• Decorate your health aid.
Put a pretty sticker over your feeding tube. Paint butterflies on your cast. Attach a little flower to your hearing aids, or hang strings of beads from your glasses. Fill your life with beauty—even the parts that might not feel beautiful at first.

• Remember that your flaws aren’t.
Seek out role models who have the same or similar conditions as you and allow yourself to see them as magical, so that you can see that in yourself too. Highlight your vitiligo. Draw flowers around your moles. Look for shapes and constellations in your scars, like you would find in the clouds above. Notice how your body mimics beautiful patterns found in nature.

• Ask for help.
If you don’t have the energy or ability to dress up as the faerie royalty you are, see if a friend will come help you!

• Embrace beautiful scents.
A little floral perfume or essential oils nearby can instantly transport me to fairyland. You deserve the pleasure of smelling something lovely, whether you wear it for others to enjoy too or not.

• Know that nobody has to witness your magic for it to be real.
I still sometimes put on sparkly makeup and a crown when I’m confined to my bed, even though nobody else will see me. It makes me feel magical, and that is reason enough.

• Remind yourself that you are worthy of feeling special.
It can be hard to get past the blocks of insecurity that come from visible disabilities or health conditions, but you are just as magical and worthy as anyone else. Remind yourself of that from time to time. You deserve magic because you are magic.
