Dale could get under your skin. He sure got under mine, because he wasn’t afraid to say what he thought, how he felt. That kind of honesty is rare, and brave. Whenever I’d make a decision, I’d look at Dale. He’d be looking back at me with that look he had. We’ve all seen it one time or another. I couldn’t always read him, but he could read us. He saw people for who they were. He knew things about us - the truth. Who we really are. In the end, he was talking about losing our humanity. He said this group was broken. The best way to honor him is to unbreak it. Set aside our differences and pull together, stop feeling sorry for ourselves and take control of our lives, our safety, our future. We’re not broken. We’re gonna prove him wrong. From now on… we’re gonna do it his way. This is how we honor Dale.

We open on my new favorite character to love-hate, Eugene — whom I will be referring to as “Doctor Mullet” for the rest of ever — who is saying, “Looking at the fossil records, you cannot say for certain that this infection isn’t what killed the dinosaurs.” Um. Um? No. I’m pretty sure I can say for certain that it wasn’t, because there aren’t zombie dinosaurs currently walking around. Although I’m going to make a note of that idea for my next pitch meeting with Asylum Entertainment.

At night, Lizzie tells Carol that she knows what she has to do now. Carol thinks she means killing walkers, so she takes this as a good thing. “It’s ugly and it’s scary and it does change you, but that’s how we get to be here. That’s growing up, now.” No, no, we could be talking about two different things right now, let’s all please be clear that we mean killing walkers right now, thanks. We definitely don’t mean becoming a walker yourself. Guys? Can we just say the words to make me feel better? No? Okay.
