Hi, everyone! In celebration of the rerelease of Avatar: The Last Airbender now on Netflix, some of my friends and I are hosting a joint giveaway on Instagram for Avatar pieces that we’ve painted over the years.

I’m excited to share with you all “Legacy”- the newest entry in my personal tribute to the timeless & marvelous “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “The Legend of Korra” series! I finally found some free time this year to rewatch the series and then dive into reading the Dark Horse comics for the very first time ever. I am now all caught up and have a newfound affection for the lore, all thanks to the high talents of Mike DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko, and every other brilliant mind that has contributed to the Avatar series. A big thank you to each of them, as well as a big thanks to all of you for your continued support!

I’m happy to finally announce my officially licensed Avatar: The Last Airbender illustration! The final art is now available for purchase on my online shop! I feel I need to explain that post. I received a ton of positive feedback but then I feel some really misunderstood. The reason why we used Asian people:
- Bo Lin, Mako, Asami & Tahno are Asia based names.
- Also the girl as Korra is actually Half African and Half Filipino.
This was not a casting post. This I think a lot misunderstood. My sister said it was just people she thought would look most like them if they were real. All of them are actors except the girl (Amira) next to Korra. She’s actually a model.
That really all I wanted to address. Thanks for the reblogs and feedback!

I was not being racially biased because I’m Chinese. I just found it a lot easier. Plus their names and other reasons moved me to do so.

BEHOLD: NEW HAIR! Korra’s design gets backs to its roots in Book 4, with a bob cut like the one Joaquim did in his original concept of her. It wouldn’t be the Avatarverse without some hairstyle changes, now would it?
(Joaquim, Studio Mir, and I drew the Korra above, Lauren Zurcher painted the background, and I did the color.)
