#snakes
I just remembered this book I owned and loved as a child named “Crictor - The good snake” by Tomi Ungerer (first published in 1958) which is about an old lady owning a friendly snake as a pet and:
“Crictor also had a warm, comfortable bed. There he would sleep happily, under his palm trees.”
“Madame Bodot knitted a long woollen jumper for Crictor that he should wear on cold days.”
–
Now who does that remind you of.
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE BOOK AS A LITTLE KID I HAVE IT IN THIS HUGE STORYBOOK IN MY MOM’S HOUSE
Just finished Kali demon three days ago. The full version can be seen on my Instagram and Ko-fi accounts.
This lady is really really sweet. She love snakes and jewelry especially if they are made out of human bones .
I had to really get creative with her body markings. And before anyone says anything, yes I know Kali is a respectable Hindu goddess and not a demon. This is just a Kali themed demon. But I like to think it’s her holding her husband Shiva in snake form.
Made a little trip to get some hides for his quarantine enclosure (he had hides before, but cardboard boxes, you know?) and so he was handled a bit while I cleaned out the cage and made it all pretty. As a reward he tried to bite me, like, six times, and you’re coming perilously close to being named Mister Bitey, sir
I have no idea what her morph “means”, but she’s so pretty.
And he shed too. Ain’t spring grand?
She also shed. So huge. So disinclined to take any shit.
I saw this animal posted for sale locally. Sibling to my orchid motley (Aerides), I didn’t want him to vanish into the ether of shuffling homes, so I took him in. He’s skinny and pretty snippy (he MUSKED me - I don’t know how long it’s been since an animal freakin’ musked me, generally they either bite the shit out of me or just chill), but he’s safely in quarantine now. I’ve named him Austri.
