LIVE

I work in a two star hotel. My colleague, who speaks 5 languages, told me about a situation when he was once checking in guests - a young couple of Russians (as it turned out later, from the rich part of Moscow). The girl started speaking to him in English so he kept up the conversation in English. Suddenly the boy turned to the girl and said in Russian that he hopes their room won’t smell like urine and emesis. My colleague just smiled at him and replied in Russian that it surely won’t be that way as our rooms are cleaned everyday. The boy got so embarassed he almost burned alive.
The moral of the story is never be rude in foreign languages.

how to speak Dutch:

1. stroke your throat with sandpaper
2. spit out your lungs
3. speak

Ulyana Sergeenko is a world-famous Russian couturier. Designers all over the globe refer to her fashion as “babushka-style”, because Sergeenko is very enthusiastic about Russian culture and history, which is quite visible in her collections. Sergeenko’s style is very elegant yet grandiose. She is renowned for her high-waist grand skirts, the use of floral prints and such materials as silk velvet and fur. Sergeenko combines her gorgeous dresses and skirts with mostly floral shawls, just like any Russian babushka does :)
We recommend checking out Ulyana’s fabulous personal style and her haute couture collections.

Zemfira is considered to be the most loved Russian contemporary musician. For two days in a row she gathered about 35.000 people in the largest Russian stadium in Moscow. It was almost impossible to buy tickets to the concerts as they were all sold out in about an hour.
Z is known for her extremely poetic lyrics, great music and sincere performances.
Here are a few songs to start with: “Мы разбиваемся”, “Чайка”, “Хочешь?”, “Жить в  твоей голове”, “Город”.
