Anyway also very much want a PJ Harvey biopic. Very much want Sally Hawkins to play PJ Harvey.
solo artists, all girl bands, or female fronted that I think deserve more attention (read: underrated/slept on), separated by genre! I’ll put a next to the artist’s name if they are openly (not rumored) queer and/or a ⚡️if they’re a person of color! this list is not finished, so if you see an artist you think should be on this list and/or a mistake feel free to message me!

Since the whole raison d'etre of this blog boils down to rock photography, I thought it would be only fitting to start featuring some of the artists who create these images. When I run across a photo credit, I look for the photographer’s website and e-mail them to ask if I can use their photos here or on my fashion blog, Malcriada. Most of them are pretty good about getting back to me and giving permission. I do think it is very important to give credit to the creators of the images that rule our world here on Tumblr in particular, and the internet in general. I always do my best to credit, and refrain from using images of artists from whom I have gotten no response. It drives me nuts when I see beautiful photographs floating around with no discernable way to find out who created them. And believe me, I can spend silly amounts of time playing Nancy Drew in that case.
I did get a prompt and friendly response from Steve Double, who was credited on an old Stone Roses pic from 1989 that I reblogged here. He’s had a phenomenal career since then and his website runs the gamut from Bono to Umberto Eco to iconic footballers like Paul Gascoigne. Check it out! I will be featuring Steve’s work for the rest of the week here on Malcriada Music (and I have been for a few days already cos I can’t hold my water).
He’s also got a Facebook page:

Did you see her walking?
Did she come around here, Sir?
Black hair, brown eyes
My beautiful Leah
She was always so needing Said, “I have no-one”
Even as I held her
She went out looking for someone
She only had nightmares,
And her sadness never lifted
And slowly over the years
Her lovely face twisted
Did she come around here, Sir?
I swear you would remember
Black hair, Brown eyes Late September
October
November
December
It never leaves my mind
The last words she said
“If I don’t find it this time,
Then I’m better off dead”.
