help i can’t seem to stoP
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

i bought quite a few new plants over quarantine but i love them so much
bio and chem are def a lot to keep up with (especially their labs) but so far i think i’m managing it pretty well :) we had our first bio quiz yesterday and i got a pretty good grade so i’m hoping it stays that way. also my chem prof is so nice he starts out all of his lectures doing karaoke and talks to his dog and cat all the time
obsessed with the concept of being haunted by yourself
maybe you were someone you hate now, and that person remains a cold hand on your shoulder that says you do not deserve this. perhaps you had to destroy yourself and become someone else to escape something worse - but now they hang over you like a shroud. you abandoned me. everyone did, but you - you were all i had. and you left me to rot.maybethe life you could have had was taken from you - and isn’t that a death of sorts? - and now it shadows your every step. you keep moving further away, but it follows.there’s a ghost after you, and it wears a frighteningly familiar face.
Time after time I think “Oh, Lord, what’s the use?”
Time after time I think it’s just no good
’Cause sooner or later in life, the things you love you lose
But you’ve got the love I need to see me through

[ID: A four panel comic in simple black and white of the same scene. Joe sits cross-legged in front of a blank easel and surrounded by cans of paint. The easel and paints shrink from disproportionately enormous and his bare back relaxes as Nicky comes into scene and cards his fingers through Joe’s curls. In the last panel, Joe has his head inclined towards Nicky and his right hand raised to start painting. End ID]
If I had a nickel for every sci-fi/fantasy series I read that spends the entire first book building up romantic tension between two women before ending with one of them sacrificing herself to allow the other to obtain ultimate power and a high ranking position within the empire that rules their world, but in the sequel she can’t even use that power properly because she’s too busy processing her grief in increasingly self-destructive ways up to and including keeping her dead lover’s personality sealed away in a part of her brain that she doesn’t know how to access I’d have two nickels
