Gen had been looking forward to this day for a while. She didn’t get as much time to just hang around the Ackles’ house as she did when they were younger, when her and Danneel’s husbands were working together every day on Supernatural. Their families had managed to remain close though. Just like they had with many of the cast and crew from the show. They were all very much an extended family, that Gen was more than grateful to be allowed a part off.
“Hey Aunt Gen,” JJ greeted her as she ran down the stairs, seemingly in a hurry, just like every 16 year old girl always was. “Did Uncle Jared pick Dad up yet?” She looked sheepishly around the house, making Gen frown slightly, wondering what she was up too.
“Hi JJ. Yeah they just left. They…” Gen started but was interrupted by JJ, who was now practically bouncing with joy.

It had been a long afternoon and evening. Danneel had never been a huge fan of red carpet events. Sure they had been exciting at first, but she had quickly started feeling like she was a zoo animal on display. She loved a chance to get all dolled up, but she could think of a million different and better reasons to get her hair and makeup done, than to waltz around in front of a bunch of flashing lights, trying her best to ignore the crude comments that always came from some of the men.
Today had been especially bad though. Not so much because if the red carpet event itself. Sure the crude comments had happened from some of the male photographers, but she had gotten used to that over the years. It still affected her of course but not to the degree that running into Mark Schwahn had done. Nothing had happened but years of bad memories and auditions being asked to basically strip in front of 5 or more people had rushed to the the surface. Memories and traumas she just wanted to forget.

Danneel was nervous. She wasn’t sure why though. She had known Jensen for years. She had always considered him one of her best friends, but over the past few weeks carpooling to the set of Ten Inch Hero, her feelings had changed. Grown stronger. She found herself wanting to be near him, touch him, every chance she got.
She had pushed down her feelings though. She hadn’t wanted to ruin their friendship and she was sure Jensen didn’t feel the same way about her. He didn’t hit on her or make a move for anything other than friendship. He listened to her and asked her questions about her family and her life on their car rides, but he was never anything but respectful and kind to her. He was a friend and that had been how she thought he still saw her. Right up until yesterday afternoon. It was the last day of filming and Jensen had seemed nervous all day yesterday, never strayed far from her side. It had made Danneel worried she had done something wrong, but she hadn’t pushed the matter. Jensen would come to her eventually, she figured. And he had, only what he had said hadn’t been what she expected at all.
A/N:First day of my Christmas countdown and the prompt was Christmas Music. This one is inspired by Jason’s livestream from the Ackles’ house I am aware the Padalecki’s probably weren’t there but no one can disprove they weren’t so :P
Jensen’s mom, Donna, had pretty much taken over the kitchen ordering Danneel and Jensen around all day, but refusing everyone else for the most part. Even Danneel’s mom, Deborah hadn’t been able to trick her way into the kitchen so she was seated in the living room with Jensen and Danneel’s dads, their siblings, and their spouses. Donna’s logic had been that it was Jensen and Danneel’s house so they were the only one allowed to help in the kitchen along side her. Gen however had reasoned she spent as much time as Jensen, if not more, under this roof so she was helping out, too. Donna had given into Gen’s stubbornness after a good 30 minutes of very entertaining bickering, while everyone agreed it would be for the best if Jared stuck to babysitting duty. No one wanted to end up ordering pizzas on Christmas Eve.

Danneel giggled to herself playing around with the instagram app on her laptop. The new gif function was so much fun to play around with and combine with the Christmas filters. She was in heaven. She made a few funny faces at the screen, waiting for it to play back to her and then erupted into another fit of giggles.
“So this is what you’re doing while I’m putting a rambunctious four year old to bed,” Jensen’s voice grumpy voice sounded behind her, but Danneel just rolled her eyes. He wasn’t fooling her. She knew that putting JJ to bed was one of his favorite things to do when he was home. Instead of defending herself, a huge grin spread across her face and she quickly tilted the laptop screen backwards so the camera would catch them standing. Or so she hoped. Jensen wasn’t exactly a normal sized person.
“Here I got an idea,” Danneel grinned, jumping off her chair, grabbing her husband’s arm and moving him into position in front of the laptop.
“What are you doing Elf-a?” Jensen chuckled, pulling her hat slightly. He loved how excited she was and how easily he could always get her to roll her eyes at him. The simple wordplay of her name did the trick for the second time in as many minutes.

It wasn’t that Danneel didn’t love living in Austin, in their new home, because she did, only the heat was killing her. It wasn’t that she hadn’t loved being pregnant, but after almost 9 months she was ready for this part to be over. She wanted to meet her daughter but more than anything she wanted to be able to move around like she used to, or maybe she just wanted to be able to see her feet again.
It wasn’t that she didn’t love her husband or that she wasn’t happy he was home on hiatus now, because she was. But when a boom sounded from the kitchen, followed by loud voices, pulling her from her much needed nap on the couch, she was ready to strangle him. Danneel wiggled around to get her feet onto the floor and swayed back and forth a few times before she gained enough traction to get back on her feet. She pressed a hand to her lower back as she stormed, or rather waddled towards the kitchen as fast as she could.
The sight that met her, made her drop her jaw. The kitchen was a complete mess. Food stains all over the counter, pots and pans scattered everywhere and she was pretty sure the cupboards had to be empty with the amount of stuff scattered around everywhere. In the midst of it all was her husband and his idiotic best friend, bickering about how long whatever they were cooking needed to be in the oven.
“Jensen Ross Ackles, what the hell did you do to my kitchen?!” Danneel’s voice sounded high pitched through the room causing Jensen and Jared both to spin around, sheer panic written all over their faces.

A night like this what exactly what they all needed. It wasn’t that neither of them didn’t love their jobs, their lives, and kids, but sometimes parents needs to take a breather to be husband and wife again. This weekend every year was exactly what Jensen and Danneel needed, as well as Jared and Gen. ACL was an event they aways attended together.
Jared and Jensen were best friends. More than that, they were brothers and even though every day was spent together on set 4 days of the week, 9 months out of the year, a huge chunk of their free time was spent in each other’s company as well. Very much helped by the fact that their wives had become as much like sisters as Jared and Jensen were brothers.
Tonight wasn’t about Supernatural, opening of a brewery or even their kids. It was simply about having fun and enjoying each other’s company. The music was loud and the alcohol was flowing. Everyone was laughing and having a great time, dancing and laughing, never wanting the night to come to an end.

There were always things that reminded him of her, but today she seemed to be everywhere he turned. The basketball game on the tv. The showing of highlights from this year’s NYC ball drop. The pregnant woman in the hall that he had actually thought was her until she turned around. Her voice in his head and the mirage of her sitting in the chemo chair.
Jensen felt as if he couldn’t breath as he rushed out the doors of the hospital. Misha and Briana had been checking up on him all day, and finally they had gone to Jared, who had decided to give Jensen a sick day. Normally he would have argued with his friends and co-workers, but Jared was his boss. Not that that normally would have stopped him, but Jensen knew they were right. He couldn’t be here today. Jensen knew where he had to be.

Danneel stood in the doorway to her daughter’s room watching Jensen struggle to get their daughter dressed for bed. Jensen had a lot of energy and was always doing something. Still he struggled to keep up with their energetic almost two year old.
He was amazing with her though and Danneel loved watching them together and as she did she thought back to when she had first met Jensen.
She had just gotten the gig of her life back then. A spread along with three other girls doing a spread for Sports Illustrated. They didn’t just want the models to pose working out. They wanted them to actually be doing it. Exercising while looking pretty is not an easy task, which the agency knew. That’s where Jensen Ackles came into the picture.
Danneel had worked with fitness instructors before but she had never worked with anyone like him. It wasn’t about getting the girls to look a certain way or even about the work outs itself to him. It was about being healthy and having fun doing so. It was the best 4 weeks of her life and after the shoot was over Danneel got an extended contract with the magazine, but that wasn’t the best part.
Summary: Supernatural is only shooting 20 episodes this year, which means Jensen gets to go home early for Christmas. It’s his favorite time of the year and he loves he gets to spend the extra time with his gorgeous wife and three amazing children.

He remembered falling to his knees watching the door close behind him. He knew Gino had been at his side in an instant, but he hadn’t registered a word his brother in law was saying. He didn’t hear the commotion or the sounds around him. He didn’t hear Deb’s crying or Ed trying to soothe her. All he saw was the images of his happy, smiling wife flashing before his eyes.
