So after a long time of working in extracting the game sprites, I got help from a friend to create a script that would import new sprites into the game. So I decided to make a touhou mod just for fun.
I’m probably the first person to ever mod this game.
Looking at the anime cel does make me wish the show was rescanned to fix how dark the colors were in the DVDs. The inside of the cars are pretty much cover in darkness while the cel does show the details of the inside. Plus a proper rescan would fix the ghosting the DVDs have.

I was looking at the initial D super Eurobeat albums and the artwork uses the anime cels and even HD render of the CGI cars and roads.
So this is how Initial D would look like if it wasn’t stuck in standard resolution…
It’s really a shame the BD are just upscale of the DVDs instead of rescanning the episodes film rolls and re-exporting the CGI in HD.

Initial D arcade stage 8 translation I’m working on.
Too much work, I have to recreate almost every single menu icon and there’s a lot of hex editing that is hard to find.
Wish someone could help me on this, but seems I’m the only one interested in translating it.
