Peeps, if you’re at all interested in your family’s history (or even if you’re not, future generations might be): ask the people from your grandparents’ and your parents’ generation to go through family photos with you and label them. People’s names, and, ideally, their connections to family members.
This is probably even more important now that most people have switched over to digital photos. So much personal history is going to be lost within the next couple of generations if we don’t take steps to preserve it.
We have so many anonymous photos in our family, dating back to the earliest days of commercial photography. But we also have some gems, like this one in which somebody has written the names _of the horses_ on the back.

Aine, I realise your eyes are itchy and the flies are annoying but it is a lot easier for me to help you if you aren’t trying to use me as a scratching post for your eyeballs.
Would also be easier if Aine didn’t act like the flymask was a facehugger.
“Do witches ride horses?” One man posed this question to the Greensboro Record in 1911 looking for an explanation as to why his horses’ hair was knotted every morning. He took care to comb out their manes and yet when he checked in the morning, the manes were so badly tangled again no comb would help. The man was skeptical of the explanation he received as a child that the tangles were due to witches riding the horses at night and tying their manes and tails into knots. The query was subsequently posted in several other papers across the state. See this reprint from The (Charlotte) Evening Chronicle for the explanation to this man’s life long question.
