This stunning portrait of Jeremy Brett taken in 1991 has finally appeared on the Internet without a massive watermark obscuring his beautiful face. Taken Oct. 21, 1991, by photographer Bob Galbreath at the Beverly Hills Hotel, for AP newsfeatures. I have been waiting my whole Granada life for this portrait to appear.  It is without question in my top 3 favorites.

Please feel free to enjoy a proper nutritious meal at our Canon canteen while waiting for your train. One cannot live on Moftiss rehash trifle alone.

And BOOM there’s a whole new generation of Granada fans posting dear wonderful Jeremy all over Tumblr.  I am SO HAPPY that I could help get him out there for you.

If you want to visit the Falk Archive facebook page, I post there almost daily.  But I have a reason to jump back onto Tumblr…I leave for a while and come back surprised <3 <3 <3

astudyinimagination:

Tried to work on restoring some of the Falk Archive photos (with the blessing of double-zero-agent-alison), and this is the result. Not the greatest, but there’s only so much you can do with grainy, over-exposed photos. And something went wonky with the one on top, not sure what. Anyway, at least they’re a bit more vibrant!

Thank you for doing this (I just got back on Tumblr after a hiatus, lol!)

“What he gets superbly well is the sheer weirdness and oddness of Holmes. Holmes in the stories is a person very, very different, and eccentric, and strange, and neurotic… and Brett captures that far better than any other actor I’ve ever seen.”- Nick Rennison

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEREMY BRETT! (3 November 1933 – 12 September 1995).

Sorry but if he doesn’t look at you the way Sherlock looks at Watson then he is not worth your time, sis. Move on.

I love charcoal drawing and this one is close to my heart. Jeremy Brett gave the best, most faithful portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. Charcoal on paper by A.M. Downs, 2020.

A Holmes for your soul

neverquiteeden:

Every time i’m putting my headphone cable into my laptop the BBC Sherlock that lives in my brain calls me an alcoholic, sure

HOWEVER when I’m having a bad day the Granada Watson that lives in my brain tells me “Let’s. Have some breakfast. And then go out together, and see what we can do.” And then I have a few deep breaths, make myself a cup of tea, and crack on; so I’d say the brainworms are a net positive
