people in the notes are freaking out because this cat passed the mirror test and i can’t really blame them because literally all the first results on google say they don’t
You could argue that this cat is closer to passing the test than the other videos. This cat does seem to investigate her ears while watching the mirror image, and repeats the behaviour.
This is still not a true pass. The Mark Test - where an animal is marked in a place it cannot see and uses the mirror to see it AND investigate, as in this video again, is the true pass or fail. And cats to this date (as far as I am aware with the research done) still have not done that.
Does this cat recognize that this is a reflection? Sure. Does this cat recognize that the reflection image is their body? Maybe. Without a mark test, you can’t say for sure yes or no.
