The Universe is a strange thing and guns happen to find me. I never thought I would be able to find and original No 4 Mk 1 (T). So I put in the leg work to restore a sportizered one was was petty happy with it.

She didn’t know why he abhorred riding the motorbike so much. It was a newer model, better than what Dwayne had before he came to the island. She decided to drive slowly behind him. “You can go on ahead,” he said, mopping the sweat off his face with his handkerchief and stepping on the side of the road. “What and leave you here in the middle of nowhere to faint from the heat?” She gave him a look that signified he was being stubborn. “It’s just…it’s uncomfortable,” he protested. “Don’t worry. I promise I’ll be gentle,” she teased wickedly.

Enfield No.4 Mk2 “Tanker”
A shortened version of a full-length Enfield rifle, the so called “Tanker” models usually feature a 16″ long barrel. They get the name Tankers because they are marketed as the issued firearms of tank crews that needed a shorter rifle. In reality a majority of the Tanker style rifles are just surplus guns that were cut-down by importers in order to sell their overstock they couldn’t get rid of. While they make for interesting novelty pieces, and are actually sometimes decent truck or scout guns, they hold no collector value. (GRH)
