MBARI’s remotely operated vehicles and state-of-the-art cameras let our scientists see the amazing creatures that call Sur Ridge home, and high-resolution mapping tools create stunning images of the seafloor.

To follow up on the Patrick 8-Track OC I posted a few days ago, my friends @threeleggedartand@flopcentral-art and I collabed together to make a bunch more abyssal OCs for this universe I don’t really have plans for!

The abyss is back, and this time it spat up a penis (worm). At the end of May, we brought you a roundup of the strangest creatures dragged from the depths of the Australian abyssal zone, and you probably thought nature couldn’t get any weirder. Well, nature never ceases to amaze us.
