#arthurian
Anyone still around?
I haven’t been around Tumblr for years (life happened) and I have probably been forgotten (fair enough) but I have carried on with my obsession about the arthurian legends (on and off). Is Tumblr still the best place (still seems pretty active from a quick glance) to be for that or should I poke my head somewhere else?
NaNoWriMo is around the corner and I’ve decided to finally (finally!) write that Orkney brothers story I’ve been planning to write for years.
So I just thought I’d log back in here and get a dose of inspiration as I return to the world of the arthurian legends.
I probably won’t be active much on here (again life and too many other things going on) but I’ll most likely lurk around and post bits and bobs of my ongoing writing (possibly).
Side note, I’m tip toeing back into the world of podfics (I blame She-Ra and the Princesses of Power for that). Any short (this being the keyword) fanfictions I haven’t read (I haven’t read any in years) that you’d like a podfic of? I might as well bring some life back into arthurian-podfics while I’m feeling all inspired and all (I can’t promise this will last).
Anyway… Hi everyone :)
I miss you all Arthurian people. So after deserting Tumblr (for no apparent reason that I can think off other than laziness), I am tentatively making my way back here.

The Conflict of Guinevere
I’ve spent the last 12 years boycoting BBC Merlindespite being very much into all things Arthurian - and by “boycoting” I mean: I had the most groundless, pettiest hatred for the show. Like guteral reaction dislike without ever having seen an episode. Despised it for it’s premise and, to be fair, parts of it’s fanbase. I am now proud to say that I have overcome this particular feud and have watched the first two episodes due to quarantine. And it was… fine? Like I don’t think it’s very good but I can see why people enjoyed it. It might even turn into a guilty pleasure if it gets better further along.
Why am I telling you all this? In parts to amuse you with my pettiness. But mostly because I genuinly spend the last 12 years not knowing that there was actual magic in the show and had to pause the pilot episode to scream into a pillow when I realised that most of the queer readings I hated on for so long actually had a point because the way they portray the surpression of magic users is a text book example for queer subtext. So I guess what I learned this quarantine season is to actually watch things before I call bullshit on them.
