On March 24th 2014, I purchased a black Moleskine sketchbook, sized 5.5x8.5 inches. I made it my goal for this to be the first sketchbook I ever filled, and would not begin another until this one was complete. Over the course of the next 2 years, 9 months, I gradually filled it with drawings, insightful things I heard or that were said to me, and stream-of-consciousness ramblings.
Contained herein are a selection of the best pages.
It’s not very impressive, but it’s mine, and it’s finished.
Full disclosure, these pages are in order in the book, but there is absolutely no chronological order to the pages, therefore my style wavers as does when I worked on each page between drawing and text.
There will also be notes of nudity, sexuality, depression, and swears.
I also would draw Facebook friends on lunch sometimes.

I’ve known Wendy for years, and shot these photos back in June just before one of her recent boxing bouts. Since then, Wendy has gone on to win National Golden Gloves Champion, Ringside World Champion, and U.S. National Champion. She is now on the National team and will be training with Olympians at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Hello.
It’s been a while and I haven’t been terribly motivated or creative lately. I’m hoping to change that. As a means of facilitating this, I will be posting older work here for the next while, as well as a journal project I recently finished.

Eiko Ishioka textile designs for Issey Miyake, 1971
Issey called me from New York the day of the Collections. He thanked me, saying the show had been a huge success, the models were great, and that New Yorkers had warmly welcomed the work. A few hours later I received another call from him, in which he told me that Bloomingdale’s had put up a window display of the dresses, only to take them down immediately. A customer had complained that the prints were vulgar and indecent. Issey and I both were disillusioned by this experience. We were shocked by the conservatism of the city that for us represented all that was new and advanced. - Eiko By Eiko
